Meet The Team

Host
Thad King
Thad King is a former professional soldier who served in the U.S. Army Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR) as a Blackhawk pilot. Throughout his career, he held a variety of roles, including Infantryman, Diver, and Combat Photographer. After retiring from the Army, Thad transitioned (poorly, by his own admission) into the corporate world of government contracting. With decades of military experience and the challenges of life after service under his belt, Thad brings a unique perspective to navigating purpose and wholeness in the aftermath of a high-stakes career.

Through Alone and Unafraid, Thad dives into the raw realities of life after the military. This podcast isn’t just about mental health or overcoming adversity—it’s about the ongoing journey to feel whole again, striving to be in a slightly better place than yesterday, and discovering what it means to be content. Thad readily admits he doesn’t have all the answers, but he’s confident in knowing where to look.

When he’s not behind the controls of a helicopter or the mic, Thad enjoys surfing, though joint pain keeps him from shredding like he used to. He also loves working out with his favorite workout buddy—his wife. A devoted father, husband, and storyteller, Thad connects with listeners through his authenticity and humor. On his own journey to rediscover who he is now that the uniform is gone, Thad doesn’t claim to have it all figured out—but he’s committed to the search, one step at a time.
